Our most recent CQC inspection has illustrated our commitment to achieving outstanding standards. We were inspected in March 2019 and the home was rated overall good, achieving outstanding for care. Our aim is to achieve outstanding in all key areas. Our experienced senior management team remain focused and committed to delivering high standards.
“People were at the heart of the service. They were truly respected, valued as individuals, and were empowered in their care.” – CQC inspection report (April- 2019)
We have re-structured and strengthened our management team to develop a strong clinical leadership presence. This clinical supervision directly impacts staff and with effective communication between our residents, staff and our management team, we ensure that our residents are supported in an individualised way – whilst receiving the appropriate level of quality medical care and personalised nursing.
Steps that we have taken to improve our care centre include:
- Care Planning
- Nurse Call System
- Policies and Procedures
- Staffing Levels
- Improved Training
- Increased Communication between Staff / Residents / Management
- Appointed New Clinical Leadership
- Resident Forums and Coffee Mornings
- Recruitment Selection Improvement
- Improved Incident Analysis
- Stakeholder Feedback from Surveys
- New Name Nurse System with Key Workers
- Dignity Champion

- Working closely with Devon Clinical Governance Group (Devon CCG)
We value every team member and believe that everyone has something to offer, each individual brings singular talents and shared experiences – which when we all come together creates a strong and supportive working environment.
This ethos is nurtured throughout the home, by residents, visitors and staff contributing to ideas and recommendations for continually improving the care home.
